The Commonwealth of Massachusetts recognizes Root Cellar, LLC as a preferred partner. Root Cellar's president and co-founder Susan Jones says "we're thrilled to be part of the commonwealth's network and look forward to exploring opportunities to work together."

At a recent tasting celebrating The Boston Cheese Cellar's grand opening, Boston's mayor Tom Menino sampled Root Cellar Preserves. Founder Susan Jones pressed the flesh a little…and she got his vote. Root Cellar, LLC completes itS first year of operation WITH OVER 20 RETAIL STORES CARRYING IT'S PRODUCTS AND CONTRIBUTES TO THREE PRESERVATION PROJECTS

Root Cellar, LLC grows to over twenty retail outlets in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. It was able to make donations to three preservation projects: the Draper house project, the Warren Wakeman Farmstead and the Dadmun-McNamara House. "Our first year of operation was very encouraging. We brought to market some great products and we received positive feedback from the community for supporting local community preservation efforts, as well as supporting local family producers. Although the contributions were not large, we hope to do more on 2007!" according to Susan Jones, founder and president.

Root Cellar preserves MAKES IT FIRST DONATION TO THE DADMUN-McNAMARA HOUSE.

Presently the home for the Wellesley, MA Historical Society, the 1824 homestead requires ongoing care to keep its timbers sturdy and to keep the water out. Root Cellar makes a donation for the general upkeep of the structure and surrounding grounds.
